Role: Associate Sourcing Manager, Indirect Sourcing Location: North Metro - Twin Cities, MN (Tuesday–Thursday onsite) Duration: 3-6 months Rate: $52.65-$58.58/hour W2, dependent on skills and qualifications
Summary: This sourcing category manager leads sourcing strategies across Marketing, Human Resources, and Professional Services categories. Responsibilities include leading routine-to-moderately complex sourcing events and contracts, supporting supplier performance and category initiatives, and partnering with business stakeholders to deliver cost savings, manage risk, and ensure compliance with purchasing processes. Lead category manager responsibilities in Ariba including new supplier approvals, contract workspaces, and ticket support and resolution. This role will also lead collaboration efforts across Indirect Sourcing team to identify improvement projects and accomplish objectives to meet broader Sourcing and Supply Chain goals.
Responsibilities: - 40% - Lead routine and moderately complex sourcing projects and RFx events across Marketing, Human Resources, and Professional Services categories. Support category strategy execution, cost savings goals, supplier selection, contract renewals, and compliance with company sourcing policies and procedures.
- 30% - Manage contract administration and negotiations for standard agreements. Coordinate with Legal, Finance, Risk, and business stakeholders to ensure contracts are executed timely, risks are addressed, and business requirements are clearly communicated.
- 15% - Develop supplier relationships and support supplier performance management, including business reviews, service-level monitoring, issue resolution, preferred supplier utilization, and communication of contractual obligations and missed deliverables.
- 15% - Maintain sourcing systems and category data, including Ariba contract workspaces, supplier onboarding, spend reporting, savings tracking, ticket resolution, and process improvement initiatives. Collaborate across Indirect Sourcing to support broader Supply Chain objectives.
Required Experience/Knowledge/Skills (to be able to perform this job): - Four-year degree with a desired minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, contract administration, vendor management, or a related business function.
- Foundational understanding of category management, RFx processes, contract negotiation, supplier management, and procurement compliance.
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects of moderate complexity and work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer service, written, verbal, and presentation skills. Knowledge of spend analysis, cost management, and supplier performance metrics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Power BI, SAP Ariba, DocuSign, or related procurement tools is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, influence stakeholders, provide day-to-day guidance, and develop future people-management capabilities.
