Job Description

Role: Product Analyst

Location: Remote

Salary: $80,000-$105,000 + bonus

Position Summary

We are seeking a Product Analyst to help drive product discovery, decision-making, and platform modernization initiatives within a mission-driven enterprise organization. This is not a traditional Business Analyst role focused primarily on gathering requirements. Instead, this position operates earlier in the product lifecycle, helping teams define the right problems to solve before solutions are designed or built.

The ideal candidate combines strong product thinking with hands-on Salesforce knowledge. You will partner with Product Managers, Product Owners, Operations, Technology, and business stakeholders to evaluate opportunities, challenge assumptions, analyze tradeoffs, and recommend product directions that create meaningful business value.

A major focus of this role is supporting enterprise Salesforce modernization efforts. You'll help determine when existing Salesforce capabilities can solve a problem, when configuration is appropriate, and when custom development is truly justified. Your work will directly influence product strategy, platform evolution, user experiences, and operational effectiveness across the organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys discovery work, problem-solving, stakeholder collaboration, and helping teams make smarter product decisions before development begins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead product discovery efforts by identifying root business problems, validating assumptions, and clarifying desired outcomes.
  • Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to understand pain points, workflows, opportunities, and business goals.
  • Evaluate multiple solution approaches and communicate the tradeoffs, risks, costs, and benefits of each option.
  • Recommend product directions based on evidence, stakeholder needs, organizational goals, and platform capabilities.
  • Assess existing Salesforce functionality and determine whether needs can be addressed through out-of-the-box features, configuration, process changes, or custom development.
  • Investigate current platform capabilities and reusable components before proposing new solutions.
  • Develop prototypes, wireframes, workflows, or solution concepts that help stakeholders visualize and evaluate ideas.
  • Define how success should be measured and identify the data, metrics, and information needed to evaluate outcomes.
  • Partner closely with Product, Operations, Technology, UX, and business teams to align on priorities and solution approaches.
  • Support product teams by translating discovery findings into actionable product recommendations and implementation-ready inputs.
  • Contribute to ongoing platform modernization initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Product Analysis, Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analysis with strong product discovery responsibilities, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading product discovery and problem-definition activities.
  • Hands-on Salesforce experience with the ability to evaluate platform capabilities and constraints.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce out-of-the-box functionality, configuration options, and customization considerations.
  • Experience assessing whether solutions should be addressed through process changes, configuration, existing platform functionality, or custom development.
  • Ability to challenge stakeholder assumptions constructively and guide teams toward better product decisions.
  • Experience evaluating solution alternatives and clearly articulating tradeoffs.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to define success metrics and identify appropriate measurements for evaluating outcomes.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, technology, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and influencing skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Salesforce transformation, modernization, or enterprise platform initiatives.
  • Salesforce Product Analyst, Salesforce Product Owner, Associate Product Manager, or similar experience.
  • Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, workflows, journey maps, or solution concepts.
  • Familiarity with Figma or other prototyping tools.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools for research, discovery, prototyping, or product analysis.
  • Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce Business Analyst, Platform App Builder, or related credentials.
  • Experience working in healthcare, nonprofit, enterprise technology, or highly regulated environments.

Technical Environment

Candidates should expect to work with:

  • Salesforce platform and CRM technologies
  • Salesforce configuration and customization decision-making
  • Product discovery and product development methodologies
  • Agile product delivery environments
  • Prototyping and design tools such as Figma or similar platforms
  • AI-assisted analysis and prototyping tools
  • Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar collaboration and backlog management tools
  • Process mapping, workflow analysis, and journey mapping techniques
  • Product performance measurement and outcome-based decision making

What Success Looks Like

Successful individuals in this role:

  • Naturally focus on understanding the problem before discussing solutions.
  • Ask thoughtful questions that uncover assumptions, risks, and hidden complexities.
  • Balance customer, user, operational, and technical considerations when making recommendations.
  • Are comfortable challenging requests when evidence suggests a different approach is needed.
  • Can confidently recommend not building a requested feature when a better alternative exists.
  • Demonstrate strong judgment regarding Salesforce configuration versus customization decisions.
  • Create simple prototypes or visual concepts that accelerate alignment and feedback.
  • Build strong partnerships across product, operations, technology, and business teams.
  • Communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Use data and evidence to support decisions while remaining pragmatic and outcome-focused.

Why Join This Opportunity

  • Play a key role in a large-scale Salesforce modernization effort with significant visibility and impact.
  • Influence important product decisions before development begins.
  • Work in a highly collaborative product organization that values discovery, critical thinking, and evidence-based decision making.

  • Gain exposure to product strategy, platform transformation, process improvement, and enterprise-scale technology initiatives.
  • Work remotely while partnering with experienced product, technology, and business leaders.
  • Join a team that values thoughtful analysis, continuous improvement, and delivering meaningful business results.

Candidates may come from backgrounds such as:

  • Product Analyst
  • Salesforce Product Analyst
  • Product Management Analyst
  • Associate Product Manager
  • Product Owner with strong discovery experience
  • Salesforce Product Owner
  • Traditional Business Analysts may be a fit if they have evolved beyond requirements gathering and have significant experience in product discovery, problem framing, solution evaluation, and Salesforce platform strategy.
