Job Description

Product Analyst – Order Management

Location: Minneapolis, MN area – primarily remote with periodic onsite collaboration

Duration: 6-month contract with strong potential for conversion to permanent employment

Rate: $53.19-$63.97/hour W2

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Product Analyst to support an Order Management product area within an evolving enterprise product organization.

This is not a traditional reporting/data analyst role, a documentation-focused Business Analyst role, or a Product Owner role focused primarily on backlog administration. The Product Analyst works alongside Product Managers and Product Owners and supports the full product development lifecycle, from early discovery and solution exploration through requirements, delivery, launch readiness, adoption, and ongoing optimization.

The ideal candidate brings a strong product mindset and can take ambiguous or complex business needs, investigate the underlying problem, evaluate potential solutions and platform capabilities, perform fit/gap analysis, and translate findings into clear recommendations and actionable requirements for product and engineering teams.

This role requires someone who can operate effectively in a fast-moving product transformation where processes, responsibilities, and ways of working continue to evolve. Learning agility, comfort with ambiguity, critical thinking, and the ability to quickly understand complex business and technology environments are essential.

Experience working within the Salesforce ecosystem is highly preferred, particularly functional experience evaluating how business needs can be addressed through existing Salesforce capabilities before pursuing custom development.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working as a Product Analyst, Product Business Analyst, Senior Business Analyst within a product organization, or similar product-focused role.
  • Experience supporting products or platforms across multiple stages of the product development lifecycle, including upstream discovery/solution definition as well as downstream requirements and delivery.
  • Strong experience with business and functional analysis, including requirements elicitation, process/workflow analysis, fit/gap analysis, solution evaluation, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Demonstrated ability to take an ambiguous business problem and independently investigate, structure, and evaluate potential solutions.
  • Experience partnering directly with Product Managers, Product Owners, business stakeholders, architects, and Agile/engineering teams.
  • Ability to evaluate existing platform capabilities and determine whether needs can be addressed through configuration or existing functionality versus requiring new/custom development.
  • Strong learning agility with the ability to quickly understand complex business processes, platforms, integrations, and organizational nuances.
  • Experience operating successfully in environments where requirements, processes, roles, or ways of working are not fully defined or are actively evolving.
  • Strong facilitation, critical-thinking, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating closely across product, business, and technical teams.
  • Ability to participate in periodic onsite workshops, ideation sessions, whiteboarding, and collaborative working sessions in the Minneapolis/Twin Cities area.

Highly Preferred Qualifications

  • Functional experience with the Salesforce ecosystem, including experience analyzing business requirements against Salesforce capabilities.
  • Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Revenue Cloud, Health Cloud, or related Salesforce products.
  • Experience performing Salesforce fit/gap analysis and identifying opportunities to use standard/out-of-the-box functionality rather than immediately defaulting to customization.
  • Experience supporting order management, customer/order workflows, or related enterprise business processes.
  • Experience working within a company undergoing a product operating-model or Agile transformation, including evolving Product Manager, Product Owner, Product Analyst, and Scrum-team responsibilities.
  • Experience helping build or evolve products, platforms, processes, or capabilities in environments that did not already have mature structures or established ways of working.

Additional Preferred / Bonus Experience

  • Oracle ERP, Oracle Cloud/Fusion, or ERP integration experience.
  • Ability to create lightweight wireframes, mockups, prototypes, or visual concepts using tools such as Figma, Miro, AI-assisted prototyping tools, or similar technologies.
  • Healthcare, life sciences, financial services, retail, or other complex enterprise/domain experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the full product lifecycle, including discovery, opportunity assessment, solution exploration, requirements definition, delivery readiness, launch readiness, adoption, and optimization.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, Agile delivery teams, business stakeholders, architects, and technology partners.
  • Investigate ambiguous or complex business problems and translate them into clearly defined needs, options, recommendations, and product requirements.
  • Conduct fit/gap analysis to determine how business and customer needs align with existing product or platform capabilities and where additional solutions may be necessary.
  • Evaluate potential solutions across customer needs, business processes, operational feasibility, technology/platform capabilities, financial considerations, dependencies, and business value.
  • Help determine the right solution, rather than simply documenting requirements provided by others.
  • Translate discovery and solution decisions into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and other documentation needed for Agile delivery.
  • Support Product Owners and engineering/delivery teams as solutions move from discovery into implementation.
  • Evaluate opportunities to leverage out-of-the-box platform capabilities before recommending custom development, particularly within Salesforce environments.
  • Identify dependencies, risks, blockers, open decisions, and downstream impacts and communicate them clearly to product and business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate conversations across business and technical teams to establish shared understanding and drive decisions.
  • Support launch readiness and help evaluate product adoption, outcomes, and opportunities for continued optimization.
  • When helpful, create lightweight mockups, prototypes, process views, or visual concepts to demonstrate potential solutions and accelerate stakeholder alignment.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The strongest candidate combines enterprise-level experience with a builder mentality. You are comfortable working in a "well-established startup" environment where there is significant organizational complexity but not always a mature process or predefined answer.

You are someone who can enter an unfamiliar problem space, ask the right questions, understand the nuances quickly, and help a team determine what should be built and why before translating that direction into work that Product Owners and delivery teams can execute.

You do not need every preferred technology listed above. The ability to learn quickly, navigate ambiguity, think critically, perform meaningful solution analysis, and become productive in a complex environment is more important than checking every technology box.

This opportunity is expected to begin as a contract engagement with a strong intention to convert to permanent employment, so candidates interested in a longer-term opportunity are strongly preferred.
