Job Description

Role: SAP ERP OTC Solution Architect

Reports to: SAP Product Manager

Location: Hybrid in Arden Hills, MN (3 days onsite)

Rate: $81-$93/hour W2. dependent on qualifications

About the role

The SAP S/4HANA Order-to-Cash Solution Architect will provide hands-on functional leadership for an active enterprise SAP rollout while helping shape the organization’s longer-term OTC transformation roadmap.

This is not a strategy-only architecture role. The architect will initially spend most of their time working directly with the OTC team to support implementations, troubleshoot issues, improve existing processes, and advise on functional solution design. As the rollout progresses, the role will increasingly focus on platform strategy, SAP Fiori adoption, intelligent automation, and future transformation opportunities.

The ideal candidate combines deep SAP S/4HANA OTC expertise with strong hands-on Fiori experience and the willingness to work through day-to-day operational and implementation challenges.

Required skills

  • 10+ years of SAP functional consulting, solution architecture, or enterprise application experience.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Sales and Distribution and end-to-end Order-to-Cash processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in:
    • Order management
    • Pricing
    • Contracts
    • Cross-docking
    • Fulfillment and billing
  • Strong, recent, hands-on SAP Fiori experience within OTC.
  • Ability to explain specific Fiori applications, roles, configurations, implementations, analytics, or user-adoption improvements.
  • Experience supporting active implementations, production environments, business users, and complex functional issues.
  • Ability and willingness to operate in a role that is initially approximately 75% hands-on delivery and support.
  • Strong knowledge of OTC integration with Finance, Materials Management, warehouse operations, logistics, supply chain, and other adjacent functions.
  • Experience conducting fit-to-standard assessments, solution design, configuration reviews, testing, rollout, and post-go-live support.
  • Ability to develop practical SAP roadmaps while recognizing immediate operational and project priorities.
  • Working knowledge of SAP Joule, SAP AI capabilities, intelligent automation, or agent-based process opportunities. Production Joule implementation experience is not required.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder-management, and executive-presentation skills.
  • Willingness to consider conversion to a full-time employee.

Desired skills

  • Dock door scheduling experience.
  • ATP or Advanced ATP experience.
  • Customer segmentation experience.
  • SAP BTP, SAP Build Process Automation, Integration Suite, CPI, or external AI-agent integration experience.
  • Experience with SAP EWM, warehouse execution, transportation, 3PL, or facility-based operations.
  • Clean Core and modern SAP extension-strategy experience.
  • Experience supporting enterprise SAP rollouts across multiple business locations.
  • SAP S/4HANA, Sales, Fiori, or Enterprise Architecture certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Experience working with distributed or offshore delivery teams.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to operating facilities, although travel is not expected to be mandatory.

What you’ll be doing

Hands-on OTC delivery and support

  • Provide functional and solution-architecture leadership for active SAP S/4HANA implementations and facility rollouts.
  • Support business users and delivery teams by diagnosing and resolving complex OTC process, configuration, integration, and production issues.
  • Use support trends and user pain points to identify opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and automation.
  • Design and improve SAP solutions involving order management, pricing, contracts, fulfillment, billing, customer service, and related OTC processes.
  • Provide hands-on expertise for cross-docking and other warehouse-connected order-fulfillment processes.
  • Work across SAP and non-SAP systems to ensure reliable execution of end-to-end OTC processes.

SAP Fiori and user experience

  • Provide strong functional leadership for SAP Fiori within the OTC domain.
  • Evaluate and recommend standard Fiori applications based on business roles and process needs.
  • Support Fiori configuration, role design, implementation, troubleshooting, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Help transition appropriate processes from traditional SAP GUI experiences to modern, role-based Fiori experiences.
  • Use Fiori analytics and applications to improve visibility, productivity, and user adoption.

Architecture and transformation

  • Assess the current SAP platform and develop a practical roadmap for future OTC capabilities.
  • Balance immediate rollout and support needs with longer-term architecture and transformation objectives.
  • Promote SAP best practices, fit-to-standard design, scalable architecture, and Clean Core principles.
  • Evaluate potential enhancements and extensions while minimizing unnecessary customization.
  • Partner with business and IT leaders to translate operational needs into executable SAP solutions.

AI and automation

  • Identify potential use cases for SAP Joule, embedded SAP AI, SAP automation tools, or external agent-based solutions.
  • Help determine where AI and automation can improve order processing, issue resolution, user support, decision-making, and productivity.
  • Advise on how SAP processes may integrate with AI agents or other automation platforms.
  • Support the development of a practical roadmap for AI-enabled OTC transformation.

Collaboration and leadership

  • Work closely with OTC functional and technical leads, business analysts, business users, consultants, and adjacent SAP teams.
  • Provide coaching, design guidance, troubleshooting support, and functional leadership without relying on formal authority.
  • Communicate architecture recommendations clearly to both technical teams and senior business leaders.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, workshops, solution assessments, testing, rollout planning, and post-go-live support.
