Job Description

Role: Curated Data Integration Engineer

Rate: $65.34/hour W2

Location: Minneapolis, MN - 2-3 days onsite required


General Responsibilities:

This client is seeking a Curated Data Integration Engineer to transform cleansed data into business-ready, Curated (Gold) layer datasets for analytics and reporting. This role involves:

  • Combining and refining data from the Enriched (Silver) zone.
  • Applying master data management rules and integrating geospatial context.
  • Building Delta Lake tables and SQL views as a single source of truth.
  • Ensuring data quality, consistency, and readiness for consumption.
  • Collaborating with the Profisee MDM system and Enterprise GIS team.
  • Supporting situational awareness use cases such as airport dashboards and KPI reports.

Work Description / Deliverables:

  • Design and build denormalized tables, star-schema models, and consolidated views.
  • Optimize Curated Delta tables for Synapse serverless SQL pools and Power BI.
  • Apply MDM and data quality rules using Profisee MDM.
  • Implement data cleansing, deduplication, and consistency checks.
  • Integrate geospatial attributes for situational awareness.
  • Translate stakeholder needs into aligned data models.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using Synapse Spark notebooks, SQL scripts, or Synapse data flows.
  • Implement validation checks and document solutions.

Mandatory Skills:

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering or BI development.
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse/lakehouse concepts.
  • Proficient in Azure Synapse Analytics and Delta Lake format.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with PySpark or Spark SQL.
  • Familiarity with Master Data Management principles.
  • Ability to write clear documentation and understand business context.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in medallion architecture (Raw/Enriched/Curated).
  • Experience with Profisee MDM or similar tools; GIS data exposure (ArcGIS, PostGIS).
  • Knowledge of Power BI and its integration with Azure Synapse.
  • Azure Data Engineer Associate certification or similar.
  • Experience in regulated industries.
