Role: Human Resources Management System Manager Location: Hybrid in Eagan, MN Salary: $112,000 - $143,000
Job Description: Our client is seeking a process improvement focused and proactive HRMS Manager to oversee our new Workday Human Resource Management System (HRMS). This individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stabilization and optimization of the new system. They will also own configuration and enhancement of the new system, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and serving as the primary system administrator and the lead Subject Matter Expert (SME). This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and security of employee data while providing technical support for various teams and employees. The HRMS Manager collaborates with HR, Payroll, IT, and other departments to improve HR processes through technology solutions and best practices.
Duties/Responsibilities: System Administration - Serve as the primary day-to-day administrator of Workday and is responsible for system configuration, maintenance, bi-annual updates, and integrations.
- Support core HR processes across the employee life cycle in the following Workday modules: Core HCM, Recruiting, Advanced Comp, Learning, Talent & Performance and Payroll “light”.
- Own business process configuration and updates, security assignments and other system updates or requests.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution for systems issues.
- Manage user roles and permissions, ensuring proper access and security controls.
- Conduct regular system audits to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Maintain system documentation, training materials, and standard operating procedures.
- Act as the primary liaison between the organization, Workday, vendors, and support partners for all systems related issues.
Training and Support - Train HR and other department staff on using the HRMS effectively.
- Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to system users.
- Coordinate with the vendor for advanced technical support when needed.
- Lead, develop, support and provide day-to-day instruction to our HRMS Specialist.
- Support integrations from Workday to other systems/vendors.
Optimization and Reporting - Identify opportunities to optimize HR and business processes using the HRMS, implement system upgrades and improve system workflows for efficiency and best practices.
- Generate HR reports, dashboards, and insights to support decision-making on workforce planning, compliance, and performance management.
- Stay updated on HRMS trends and features, recommending improvements to enhance functionality.
- Ensure HRMS processes align with legal, compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g., data privacy laws, labor laws, affirmative action reporting).
- Ensure company is fully utilizing our Workday Success Plan (WSP) subscription.
- Lead Workday Steering Committee to ensure alignment across organizational stakeholders.
Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in human resources, information systems, business administration, or a related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience working in Workday HRMS platform. Workday Pro certification preferred.
- Experience with Workday Recruiting, HCM, Talent & Performance, Payroll, Advanced Comp is highly preferred.
- Ability to learn and problem solve as needed.
- Strong understanding of HR processes and workflows, including payroll, benefits administration, and talent management.
- Proficiency in HR data reporting and analysis, with experience using tools like Excel, API integrations, Power BI, or SQL.
- Knowledge of HR compliance and data privacy regulations (e.g. FLSA, EEOC reporting).
- Experience with HR system configurations, requirements gathering, integrations and automation.
- Familiarity with cloud-based HR technology solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to partner with stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality, customer-focused solutions in a timely manner.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment while maintaining data confidentiality and integrity.
- Experience supporting a nationwide and growing workforce. Union/CBA exposure preferred.
