Role: Senior Workday Business Analyst – Core HCM Location: Remote (U.S.) Compensation: $130,000 - $160,000 base + bonus Travel: Up to 25%
About the Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Workday Business Analyst to serve as a strategic partner between HR leadership and technology teams. This role supports Workday Core HCM, Recruiting, Learning, and Talent and is responsible for translating business needs into scalable Workday solutions.
This is not a support-only role. The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis and stakeholder management skills with deep hands-on Workday configuration experience. You will work directly with senior HR leaders, Talent teams, Learning & Development, and IT partners to drive enhancements, optimize processes, and deliver high-quality solutions that support enterprise people initiatives.
Success in this role requires someone who can comfortably lead requirements discussions, challenge assumptions, present solution options, and own delivery from concept through production deployment.
What You'll Do Business Partnership & Requirements Gathering - Partner with HR, Talent, Recruiting, Learning & Development, and IT stakeholders to understand business objectives and operational challenges.
- Lead discovery sessions and requirements gathering efforts with business leaders.
- Translate business needs into Workday configuration recommendations and solution designs.
- Present multiple solution options, recommendations, and tradeoffs to stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted advisor on Workday capabilities and best practices.
Workday Configuration & Delivery - Serve as the subject matter expert for Workday Core HCM, Recruiting, Learning, and Talent.
- Configure and maintain business processes, security roles, calculated fields, reports, and related functionality.
- Own the full lifecycle of enhancements and projects, including intake, design, configuration, testing, deployment, documentation, and support.
- Lead or support tenant refreshes, Workday releases, upgrades, and enhancement initiatives.
- Ensure changes are thoroughly tested and production-ready.
Governance & Continuous Improvement - Drive process improvements and automation opportunities using Workday capabilities.
- Ensure data integrity through audits, testing, governance, and change control practices.
- Monitor emerging Workday functionality, AI capabilities, and related technologies that may improve employee, recruiting, or talent experiences.
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party partners to resolve complex issues and deliver solutions.
What We're Looking For Required Experience - 7+ years of hands-on Workday experience.

- Proven experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into Workday solutions.
- Experience leading projects or enhancements from requirements through production deployment.
- Strong understanding of Workday release management, testing, and change control practices.
- Experience working directly with HR and Talent stakeholders.
Preferred Experience - Prior HR, HRIS, Talent, Recruiting, or People Operations experience.
- Experience serving as a Workday Product Owner, Lead Analyst, HRIS Lead, Workday Consultant, or similar role.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale Workday environments.
- Experience evaluating emerging AI capabilities and workforce technology trends.
