Job Description
Role: MuleSoft Software Engineer Location: Hybrid in Oak Park Heights, MN (3 days onsite) Duration: 6 months, potential to extend and/or convert Rate: $64.33/hour W2
Overview We are seeking a MuleSoft Software Engineer to design, develop, and support enterprise integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. This role focuses on building scalable APIs and integration flows that enable seamless data exchange across cloud and on‑premise systems in support of enterprise business processes.
Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain integration solutions using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
- Build and support APIs and integration flows following API‑led connectivity principles
- Develop Mule applications using Anypoint Studio, including data transformations and routing logic
- Implement and maintain integrations between internal systems, SaaS platforms, and external partners
- Create and maintain DataWeave mappings for data transformation across systems
- Participate in unit testing, debugging, and deployment of MuleSoft applications
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration, performance, and data flow issues
- Create and maintain technical documentation and integration design artifacts
- Support environment management, deployments, and ongoing enhancements
Required Qualifications - 3+ years of software development or integration experience
- Hands‑on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and Anypoint Studio
- Experience developing APIs and integration flows using Mule ESB
- Strong understanding of RESTful services and API concepts
- Experience working with structured data formats such as XML and JSON
- Familiarity with DataWeave for data transformation
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with API management, security, and policies within MuleSoft
- Experience integrating with cloud platforms, ERPs, CRMs, or SaaS applications
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
- Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments
- MuleSoft certification (Developer or Integration Architect)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
Nice to Have - Experience with API‑led architecture and microservices patterns
- Exposure to on‑premise and hybrid integration environments
- Experience supporting production integrations or on‑call rotations
- Prior experience documenting enterprise integration flows and data mappings
