Role: SAP Datasphere / HANA Cloud Consultant

Location: Remote

Duration: 3 months (potential to extend)

Rate: $41.37/hour W2

Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled SAP Datasphere and HANA Cloud Consultant to support their greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation. This is an initial 3-month engagement with the potential for extension based on project needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and building the data and analytics layer to support enterprise reporting and data management requirements on the HANA Cloud platform.

Key responsibilities

  • Architect and implement the SAP Datasphere environment, including spaces, data layers (Business, Persistence, Replication), and integration with SAP S/4HANA Cloud and other source systems
  • Design and develop data models within SAP Datasphere (graphical and SQL views, entity-relationship models, analytical datasets) to support finance, operations, and management reporting
  • Configure and manage SAP HANA Cloud instances including provisioning, performance tuning, and security (roles, privileges, data masking)
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and data flows for ingestion, transformation, and replication from S/4HANA and other enterprise systems into Datasphere
  • Collaborate with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) teams to expose semantic models and datasets for dashboarding and self-service reporting
  • Work closely with RTR, FP&A, and other business stakeholders to gather and translate reporting requirements into Datasphere data models
  • Conduct performance analysis and optimization of HANA Cloud database objects and queries
  • Produce technical documentation including data architecture diagrams, data dictionary, and lineage documentation

Required qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere, or SAP HANA-based data modeling and architecture
  • Demonstrated experience with SAP Datasphere (formerly DWC): space configuration, data layers, data flows, remote tables, and business entity modeling
  • Proficiency in SAP HANA Cloud administration and SQL scripting, including calculation views and analytic privileges
  • Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA with cloud data platforms via SLT, CDS views, or OData/API-based replication
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts: star schema, ODS, data vault, semantic layers
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional implementation team and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Preferred qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) connected to Datasphere for live connections or import-mode reporting
  • Knowledge of SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) services and integration suite
  • Prior involvement in an SAP S/4HANA greenfield implementation in a data/analytics capacity
  • SAP certification in Datasphere, HANA Cloud, or a related data management solution
