Job Description

Role: RTR Business Analyst / Reporting

Location: Remote

Duration: Through June 2026

Rate: $41.37/hour W2


Overview

Our client is undertaking a greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation and is seeking an experienced Record-to-Report (RTR) Business Analyst with strong reporting expertise to support the project through June. This role will serve as a critical bridge between the finance business and the technical SAP team, ensuring that RTR processes are accurately designed, documented, and validated, with a particular focus on financial reporting outputs.


Key responsibilities

  • Lead RTR workstream activities including general ledger, period-end close, intercompany, fixed assets, and financial consolidation within the S/4HANA environment
  • Elicit, document, and validate business requirements for RTR processes; produce fit/gap analyses and functional specifications
  • Design and validate financial reporting solutions leveraging SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics, Universal Journal (ACDOCA), and standard financial statements
  • Collaborate with SAP FICO functional consultants and technical teams to configure and test RTR scenarios, ensuring alignment to business requirements
  • Support data migration activities related to financial master data and opening balances
  • Develop and execute test scripts (unit, integration, UAT) for RTR and reporting scenarios; manage defect resolution with the project team
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions with finance business users; produce clear, concise project documentation
  • Support change management and end-user training activities as needed through go-live

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years of SAP FICO/RTR experience, with at least one full-cycle SAP S/4HANA implementation (greenfield preferred)
  • Deep functional knowledge of RTR processes: GL, fixed assets, cost center accounting, intercompany, period-end close
  • Hands-on experience with S/4HANA embedded analytics and/or SAP Fiori reporting apps for financial reporting
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills; ability to translate complex financial requirements into clear functional specifications
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage deliverables in a fast-paced implementation environment
  • Preferred qualifications
  • Familiarity with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or SAP Datasphere for financial reporting use cases
  • Experience with SAP Activate methodology
  • Background in finance or accounting (CPA, CMA, or equivalent experience a plus)
