Role: Senior Project Manager - Oracle Data Lead

Rate: $67.97-$79.79/hour W2, dependent on skills and qualifications

Location: Remote

Start Date: ASAP

End date: 9/30/2026 with potential to extend

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong data governance and data conversion experience to support complex initiatives, primarily within ERP and enterprise system programs. This is not a program management role—we are looking for a hands-on leader with approximately 8–12 years of experience who can stay close to execution and actively drive data-related work forward.

This role is ideal for someone who excels at bridging the gap between Business and IT, translating requirements into actionable plans, and keeping data governance and conversion efforts moving efficiently. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who takes ownership, drives clarity, and helps teams understand both the “what” and the “why” behind the work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive data governance and data conversion initiatives as part of ERP or large-scale system implementations
  • Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring shared understanding of data requirements, ownership, and impacts
  • Coordinate and manage data-related activities including data discovery, profiling, cleansing, mapping, validation, and reconciliation
  • Facilitate collaboration across business data owners, functional leads, technical teams, and third-party vendors
  • Develop and manage project plans, milestones, dependencies, and risks related to data conversion and governance activities
  • Proactively identify issues, gaps, and risks in data readiness and drive resolution
  • Manage and hold accountable implementation partners, systems integrators, and third-party vendors supporting data efforts
  • Ensure alignment between business rules, data standards, and conversion deliverables
  • Provide clear, timely communication and status reporting to business, technical, and leadership stakeholders
  • Adapt quickly to evolving requirements while maintaining focus on delivery and outcomes

Required Skills & Experience

  • Approximately 8–12 years of experience leading projects or workstreams within complex technology or ERP environments
  • Proven experience leading or managing data governance initiatives, including data ownership, standards, policies, and controls
  • Hands-on experience driving data conversion efforts for ERP or large-scale system implementations
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business data needs into executable plans for technical teams
  • Strong experience coordinating across business users, IT teams, and third-party vendors
  • Solid project management fundamentals, including planning, dependency management, risk tracking, and issue resolution
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to simplify complex data concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Strong problem-solving skills and comfort operating in ambiguous or evolving environments
  • Experience working with ERP platforms (Oracle experience strongly preferred)

Desired Characteristics

  • Natural connector between Business and IT
  • Takes ownership and accountability for driving data work forward
  • Comfortable working hands-on beyond a narrowly defined role
  • Detail-oriented while still able to see the broader business impact
  • Execution-focused, proactive, and solutions-oriented
  • Resilient and adaptable in complex, multi-stakeholder environments

Why This Role?

This role is ideal for someone at the ~10-year experience level who enjoys working at the intersection of data, systems, and people—helping organizations get their data right while enabling successful system delivery. It offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact without stepping into a purely strategic or program-level role.
