Job Description

Role: Senior Network Engineer

Time Commitment: 40 hours/week

Work Location: Hybrid in Bloomington, MN (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Rate: $71.28 - $85/hour W2, dependent on skills and qualifications


Position Summary:

The Senior Network Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of complex network solutions. This role is responsible for ensuring the security, integrity, and performance of the organization’s network infrastructure while mentoring junior staff and collaborating across departments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement complex network solutions to meet business needs.
  • Develop and enforce network policies and procedures.
  • Provide mentorship to junior network engineers and analysts.
  • Integrate new technologies into existing infrastructure.
  • Manage large-scale network projects from planning to delivery.
  • Conduct advanced network performance analysis and optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Maintain disaster recovery plans for network infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and solutions.
  • Address complex support issues reported via monitoring systems or ticketing processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • In lieu of a degree, 10 years of IT experience with increasing network responsibilities.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a Network Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of network systems design, configuration, and administration.
  • Proven experience leading complex network projects.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and network capacity analysis.
  • Understanding of system management, monitoring, and operations.
  • One or more advanced Cisco certifications: CCNP, CCIE, CCAR, or CCDA.
  • Experience with:
    • Multicast routing
    • SD-WAN solutions
    • Azure and AWS cloud networking
    • Cisco ISE

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Python scripting.
