Job Description
Role: Senior Product Manager - Saas Platform Location: Remote with 10% travel Rate: $80/hour W2
Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the continued development and market launch of a multi-tenant, cloud-native SaaS platform in the graphic communications and web-to-print space. This is not an advisory or support role — this is hands-on product leadership from day one. The platform has completed proof-of-concept and first release, the backlog is defined through the next six sprints, and a full cross-functional team is in place (Product Owner, UX, Architect, Engineering, QA). You are stepping into a built environment with clear momentum — your job is to take it to market and drive the product forward. This is ideal for a product leader who thrives in build-phase environments, wants to own outcomes end-to-end, and can operate as the strategic and tactical center of gravity for the product without needing a title to lead.
What You Will Own - Product strategy and roadmap for an enterprise B2B SaaS platform built on MACH architecture
- Sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and release management in collaboration with the Product Owner and engineering team
- Stakeholder alignment across Sales, Marketing, IT leadership, customers, and executive sponsors — including steering committee presentations and budget discussions
- Customer discovery and validation — direct engagement with current and prospective customers to inform product direction
- Market intelligence and competitive landscape analysis — continuously monitoring trends, adjacent solutions, and customer feedback to sharpen product positioning and inform roadmap decisions
- Data-driven decision-making: building the business cases, competitive analyses, and usage metrics that drive executive alignment and unblock decisions
- Internal product demos and stakeholder updates — communicating product vision, progress, and trade-offs to executive leadership, customers, and cross-functional teams with audience-appropriate framing
- User story definition and requirements clarity — writing and refining user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements in partnership with the Product Owner to ensure engineering has what it needs to deliver
- Platform go-to-market planning — transitioning from early-stage development into scaled commercial delivery
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and engineering — translating business intent into technical direction and ensuring alignment across both sides
- Cross-functional leadership as a servant leader — driving consensus and accountability without positional authority
Requirements — Non-Negotiable We are looking for doers, not participants. Every requirement below must be demonstrated through direct, hands-on experience — not team membership. - 5 to 7 years’ experience with at least 3 years of contiguous Product Management experience. This means dedicated PM roles with increasing scope — not project managers or developers who transitioned into product six months ago. Career progression from Product Owner to Product Manager, or from Business Analyst to PM, is valued.
- Direct experience leading product on MACH-based or modern cloud-native architectures. You have personally driven platform decisions, not observed them. Familiarity with headless CMS, microservices, API-first, and cloud-native (Azure preferred) is expected.
- Hands-on Agile and sprint execution. You have owned backlogs, run sprint ceremonies, managed release cycles, and made prioritization trade-offs — not attended standups as a stakeholder.
- Enterprise B2B platform experience (preferred). B2C e-commerce is acceptable, but candidates with B2B SaaS or platform experience — particularly in content management, digital asset management, or print/graphic communications — will be prioritized.
- Business acumen first, technical aptitude second. You understand business models, revenue drivers, and customer value before you understand system architecture — but you can navigate codebases, read technical documentation, and hold your own in architecture discussions. We do not need a former developer or project manager; we need a product thinker who is technically literate.
- Tooling proficiency: Aha! (preferred), Azure DevOps, and experience building or managing solutions in Azure cloud environments. AWS, GCS, JIRA, etc. is acceptable – they can learn the specifics of Azure.
Qualifications — What Sets You Apart - You know the difference between a Product Owner and a Product Manager — and you have operated as both
- You have a strong understanding of the full product lifecycle — from discovery and definition through build, launch, iteration, and scale — and you know what good looks like at every stage
- You present with confidence to C-suite, customers, and cross-functional teams — and you tailor your message per audience
- You partner effectively with UX, engineering, and QA to ensure quality delivery — not by hovering, but by setting clear expectations and removing blockers
- You are an extrovert who builds relationships, navigates organizational politics, and generates buy-in through influence rather than authority
- You use modern AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or equivalent) as daily working tools to research, analyze, and accelerate your output — not as a novelty
- You are a servant leader: no ego, high accountability, collaborative by default, and willing to do whatever the product needs — from writing a user story to presenting a strategic roadmap to the board
- You research what you don't know. If you need to be told to look something up, this role isn't the right fit
- You can manage and communicate budgets, timelines, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with content management systems (CMS), Product Information Management (PIM), or digital asset management (DAM) and Online Content Editor platforms is a strong plus
Client-Specific Qualifications (nice to have) - Familiarity with web-to-print workflows, variable data printing, or graphic communications industry a plus
