Job Description

Role: IT Project Manager/Business Analyst

Location: Remote with occasional travel required

Duration: 3/16/2026 - 3/15/2027

Pay Rate: $54.14/hour W2


  • Leads projects of medium to high complexity, and may also support to projects of high complexity, as part of a program team in collaboration with a Senior Project Manager and/or Program Manager.
  • Responsible to achieve project objectives and completion on time, on budget, and in conformance to client's IT methodologies and practices. Solicits technological input from senior technical resources assigned to their project team(s), and facilitates technology problem-solving activities.
  • Manages projects with budget responsibility up to (USD)1 million, and may require matrix supervision of staff from other IT departments and divisions, and contractor/vendor resources. Contingent upon the project, may present project requests to institutional committees and oversight bodies to receive approval and project direction and input.
  • May support senior level project/program managers in strategic planning processes.
  • Makes judgments and takes reasonable and prudent actions to accomplish agreed upon project objectives under minimal direct supervision. Advises other IT staff regarding project management practices, methods and standards. Routinely demonstrates the Project Focused Culture within the Information Technology department. Manages multiple competing objectives, prioritizes, and communicates complex technical information in clear and unambiguous terms to management and end user personnel.
  • Assures strict adherence to budget management and guidelines of both the Information Technology department and the institution. May participate in the development and tracking of project budgets.
  • Performs additional job-related functions as detailed by immediate supervisor.

Education:

Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 7 years' experience managing projects of simple and moderate complexity involving Information Technology and/or Healthcare disciplines, which includes experience leading projects using PMI Process Groups and Knowledge Areas OR Master's Degree and a minimum of 4 years' experience managing projects of simple to moderate complexity involving Information Technology and/or Healthcare disciplines, which includes experience leading projects using PMI Process Groups and Knowledge Areas.

Summary of the Role

We are seeking a Project Manager / Business Analyst hybrid to support a large, complex implementation of MAK SYSTEM and associated workflows across multiple sites. This individual will support a Senior PM and will be responsible for requirements gathering, documentation, data conversion coordination, project tracking, and cross functional communication across IT, lab operations, blood bank, and clinical teams.

This is a hands-on, detail heavy role that requires both PM and BA skill sets with strong communication, documentation, and implementation experience.

  • Must produce clear requirements, project artifacts, summaries, and traceability.
  • Experience working between IT and laboratory/blood bank domains
  • Must be familiar with clinical/lab workflows or the interaction between lab operations and IT.
  • Experience with large scale system implementations
  • Preferably multi-site, regulated, or clinical system rollouts.
  • MAK SYSTEM experience

Required Experience:

  • Strong Business Analyst background
  • Requirements solicitation, documentation, process mapping, traceability.
  • Strong Project Management background
  • RAID tracking, status reporting, meeting facilitation, implementation support.
  • Experience working in healthcare, clinical, LIS, LIMS, lab operations, blood bank, or transfusion medicine environments.
  • Experience supporting data conversion, mapping, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Ability to maintain large volumes of project and requirements documentation.

Preferred Experience:

  • MAK SYSTEM experience (This is the #1 preference)
  • Epic / Beaker experience
  • Blood bank or transfusion medicine experience
  • Experience with multi-site implementations

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conduct requirements gathering, requirements documentation, and validation across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Manage project coordination tasks under the direction of a Senior PM (meeting facilitation, RAID tracking, documentation updates).
  • Support data conversion planning, mapping, validation, and documentation.
  • Support change management activities including SOP updates, training materials, communications, and readiness activities.
  • Assist with billing related data work, test preparation, and system verification.
  • Work with IT, lab operations, and clinical leaders to align requirements and ensure consistent documentation.

Candidate Location & Travel Expectations:

  • 100% remote with preference for candidates within 100 miles of Rochester, MN
  • Must be willing to attend occasional onsite build days (as required by the project schedule)
