Job Description

Role: Solution Integrations Architect

Location: Hybrid in Oak Park Heights, MN

Duration: 12 months

Rate: $70.35-$76.42/hour W2, dependent on skills and qualifications

PURPOSE:

The Solution Architect – Integration & Data Flow is responsible for designing, guiding, and aligning end-to-end solution architectures with a strong focus on integration design, data movement, and orchestration across multiple applications and platforms, leveraging MuleSoft. The primary focus will be orchestration of Product and Product configuration data.

This role translates enterprise architecture vision, target-state designs, and migration strategies into actionable, cross-application implementation plans. The Solution Architect partners closely with Enterprise Architects, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards while meeting near-term business needs.

The ideal candidate has a strong appetite for understanding how systems interact, how data moves through an ecosystem, and how to design reliable, observable, and well-orchestrated integrations using Azure-native services and MuleSoft’s API-led connectivity approach.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Solution & Integration Architecture

  • Design and govern end-to-end solution architectures with emphasis on system integration and data flow across multiple applications.
  • Define and document integration patterns using Azure Integration Services (e.g., Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid) and MuleSoft (API-led connectivity).
  • Partner with Enterprise Architects to align target-state architecture with delivery roadmaps and active initiatives.
  • Ensure architectural consistency across cloud, SaaS, and on-premise systems.

Data Flow & Orchestration

  • Architect and oversee orchestration of data flows across applications using Azure and MuleSoft platforms.
  • Guide teams on designing integrations that support:
    • API management and lifecycle
    • Event-driven and message-based integrations
    • Batch and near–real-time data movement
    • Error handling, resiliency, and observability
  • Ensure integration designs meet enterprise standards for security, performance, and scalability.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

  • Act as a technical leader and integration authority across delivery teams.
  • Collaborate with application, data, and platform teams to design integrated solutions that meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Review and provide guidance on:
    • API specifications and contracts
    • Integration workflows and orchestration logic
    • Azure and MuleSoft implementation approaches
  • Communicate complex integration and architecture concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Proactively assess existing integrations and data flows to identify modernization and optimization opportunities.
  • Support architecture governance through documentation, standards, patterns, and decision records.
  • Contribute to audits and reviews related to security, compliance, and operational effectiveness.

DIRECTION OF OTHERS:

  • Coach and oversee software engineers and technical leads on implementing solution architecture, Azure integration patterns, and MuleSoft best practices.
  • Influence architecture decisions across multiple teams without direct authority.
  • No direct people management responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale solutions.
  • Proven experience as a Solution or Integration Architect in complex, multi-application environments.
  • Strong hands-on or architectural experience with:
    • Azure cloud and integration services
    • MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and API-led connectivity
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Integration patterns (API, event-driven, messaging, batch)
    • Data flow, orchestration, and system interoperability
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, secure technical solutions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Experience in integrating SaaS, COTS, and legacy platforms.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for Azure and MuleSoft.
  • Knowledge of data security, identity, and access management in integrated environments.
  • Experience contributing to enterprise architecture standards and governance.
