Job Description

Role: Content Management Specialist

Contract: 6 months

Location: Remote

Rate: $64.58/hr W2


Seeking a contractor to support content management operations across two enterprise content management systems (CMSs): Adobe Experience Manager Guides (DITA) and Sitecore. This role is critical to maintaining content for delivery to our websites and/or CDAPI/syndication during a multi-year system transition. The selected contractor will not write content but will be responsible for entering, formatting, and publishing content using structured markup and metadata standards. The contractors will also support dual maintenance workflows, ensuring content integrity across both CMSs.


Goals, Objectives, and Scope of Work:

  • Enter and format structured content using DITA and HTML in AEM Guides and Sitecore.
  • Work with Word documents, images, etc., for content updates and publishing.
  • Apply and update metadata following system standards.
  • QA to ensure we maintain synchronized content between Sitecore and AEM.
  • Collaborate with analyst and specialist teammates to troubleshoot issues and meet deadlines.

Skills Required:

  • Proven experience with Adobe Experience Manager Guides (DITA) and Sitecore.
  • Strong understanding of HTML, DITA, and structured content workflows.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and collaborate with teammates.

Required Education:

  • The Content Management Specialist requires a two (2) Year AA (associate’s degree) in web design, computer science, or related field

Preferred Education:

  • Associate's degree or certificate that includes courses in Web publishing or design.
  • Background in health or science-related information or understanding of medical terminology is helpful.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • List any specialty-specific certifications of licensures on an addendum and attach to job description.

Job Summary:

The Content Management Specialist is responsible for the daily production of content to fulfill publishing plans and to meet the highest quality standards. Accountable for accurate and timely production of assigned content.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Converting text to HTML or XML as dictated by publishing tools and inserting all associated assets (images, video, hyperlinks, tables, etc.).
  • Proofreads all published content to ensure visually and grammatically correct publication as part of daily quality assurance of assigned content.
  • Manages time and sets priorities to meet publishing plans.
  • Troubleshoot issues.
  • Participates in continuous process improvement.
  • Provides ongoing monitoring of processes and technologies and recommends improvements in support of this goal: Providing technical solutions that allow for the efficient and quality production/processing of published materials.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Additional Experience:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of work experience in a production/publishing related field. OR
  • Seven (7) years of work experience in a production/media-related field.
  • Project management experience, especially in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and accountability for assigned tasks yet take direction well. 
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment. 
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, spelling and grammar, and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Incumbents must demonstrate good technical production skills, efficiency and a thorough knowledge of the publishing software within their work unit.
  • Strong working knowledge of computers, HTML editors, software applications (e.g. MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Dreamweaver, and similar tools), Web browsers, use of multimedia on the Web, content management systems and database reporting tools.
