Job Description

Job Title: Principal Software Engineer (Oracle EBS / Cloud)

Reports To: Senior Manager, Application Development

Start Date: asap

Salary Range: approximately 120k + bonus and benefits (negotiable)



Position Summary:

The Principal Software Engineer is responsible for delivering technical solutions for Oracle EBS and Cloud/Fusion platforms. This includes development, maintenance, and support of new and existing functionality. The role requires minimal supervision and involves mentoring and cross-functional leadership.


Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership & Development

  • Define system scope, objectives, and requirements.
  • Lead design and development of software solutions.
  • Create documentation for application modifications and new development.
  • Develop enhancements within defined architecture and methodologies.

Team Support

  • Maintain and improve internal and external production applications.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure and Service Desk teams.
  • Provide production system support and timely status updates.
  • Mentor and train team members.


Required Qualifications:

Knowledge of:

  • Oracle EBS and Cloud/Fusion platforms
  • SQL, PL/SQL, XML, BI Publisher, Oracle Visual Builder Studio
  • RESTful services, JSON, SOAP/XML, SOA gateway deployments
  • Oracle distribution and financial applications (e.g., iExpense, GL, AP, AR, etc.)
  • Development tools, SDLC, Agile methodologies

Ability to:

  • Work independently and in teams
  • Troubleshoot and analyze complex systems
  • Communicate effectively
  • Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of technical work experience in software development


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with WSO2, Kintana/HP PPM
  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud HCM suite (e.g., Core HR, Payroll, Benefits)
  • Reporting tools (OTBI/BI-SQL)
  • Application Object Library (FND)
