Job Description

Position: Technical Product Owner  

Location: Hybrid (Onsite 2-3 Days per Week) - Minneapolis  


Overview:

We are looking for an experienced **Technical Product Owner** to drive key web and mobile development projects. This role involves working closely with product managers to translate high-level business requirements into actionable, detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who brings strong Agile and Scrum experience, and is comfortable using Azure DevOps to facilitate seamless collaboration and project transparency. Prior experience in the airline industry is a plus.


Key Responsibilities:

- Requirement Gathering & Story Development: Collaborate with product managers to translate high-level requirements into well-defined user stories, complete with integration criteria and test cases.

- Story Management: Maintain and manage story progress on development team boards, ensuring alignment with project goals and timely delivery. 

- Testing Support: Partner with development and QA teams to assist with testing activities, including writing and executing test cases as needed.

- Agile Ceremony Facilitation: Lead or assist in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to foster team alignment and continuous improvement.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with developers, designers, QA, and other stakeholders to ensure requirements are clear, dependencies are managed, and potential risks are mitigated.

- Tool Management: Utilize Azure DevOps to manage backlogs, track story progress, and provide visibility to stakeholders on the status of development efforts.

- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation to support project continuity and transparency, ensuring all product changes, decisions, and requirements are well-documented.


Qualifications:

- Experience: 3-5+ years as a Technical Product Owner or in a similar role within web or mobile development environments.

- Agile & Scrum Proficiency: Strong understanding and practical experience with Agile methodologies, including experience running Agile ceremonies and managing sprints.

- Technical Acumen: Experience with web and/or mobile development processes, particularly around defining integration points and handling complex requirements.

- Azure DevOps Experience:*Proficient in using Azure DevOps to manage and track project progress.

- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:

- Industry Experience: Background in the airline industry or experience in similarly regulated, customer-centric environments, ideally within digital transformation or customer experience-focused projects.
