Job Description
Role: R&D Project Manager Location: East Metro MN - fully onsite
We are looking for a collaborative and results-orientated Project Leader to join our team within the Research Development & Innovation (RD&I) function. You will be working in an exciting, high-visibility role which involves collaborative interaction with senior leaders, external customers, manufacturing and quality partners, marketing, finance, IT, sales, service, design engineering, materials engineering, and regulatory affairs. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver new product development projects from scoping through implementation following a stage gate methodology. After demonstrated success in leading projects there is an opportunity to grow into a role to lead others -- overseeing engineers and project leaders, leading their own projects. This role - Manages the development and implementation of the company’s products and services by leading cross-functional and multi-site teams
- Manages a large multi-year product development initiative, while overseeing several sub projects by employing Stage Gate methodologies
- Assesses project risk and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, customer satisfaction, and business case objectives
- Provides regular status reports to senior business leaders, cross functional partners, and clients

Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering-related discipline
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience with 2+ years leading multi-year product development initiatives
- Demonstrated project management experience with ability to lead projects of varying scope and complexity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to create and sustain an environment that promotes good communications
- Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience
- Demonstrated organization skills
- Ability to manage conflicts and drive towards win-win solutions
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible in a challenging and fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, consistently taking the initiative to get things done, doing things before being asked by others or forced to by events
